OCBC promotes staff wellness through fortnight-long carnival
The more than 5,000 OCBC Malaysia staff (comprising those from OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad and Islamic banking subsidiary OCBC Al-Amin Bank Berhad) were recently treated to a fortnight-long carnival centred on wellness. Similar events were held throughout the OCBC Group’s regional network.
Championing the importance of keeping staff abreast of their health, wellness and lifestyle, OCBC Malaysia rolled out the carnival themed “Wellness Every day, Every way” which saw more than 1,000 staff participating in the in-person event at the Bank’s headquarters, Menara OCBC, along with scores who joined online.
Beyond the inspiring talks, fun games, expert-led wellness sessions, and an all-new AI-powered photo booth, the Bank staff were feted to an array of programmes, both in person and digitally, to ignite their passion for wellness. Among the highlights were the challenge to walk 100,000 steps in 14 days, health checks, yoga sessions and even massages to relieve body tension.
According to OCBC Malaysia Managing Director and Head of Human Resources Ms Kok Lai Ching, the Bank strives to not only provide its customers with sustainable banking solutions that are tailored to their needs but also to engage its staff in initiatives that uplift them.
“Our aspiration to be Asia’s leading financial services partner for a sustainable future, extends beyond our customers. We want to be the bank that enables the communities around us to realise their aspirations, and that starts with our employees.
“We thoughtfully curated a variety of wellness-related programmes so our staff could benefit holistically, both physically and mentally, to remind them of the importance of self-care.“We are reminded of how vital it is for us, as an organisation, to care for the whole person by being mindful of every aspect of our employees’ well-being – physically, mentally, financially, and beyond. Together we are creating a culture where well-being is at the heart of all that we do,” she said.
OCBC Bank was named one of the Kincentric Best Employers for Malaysia in 2023, the only bank to be listed in the ranking this year.
