OCBC Premier Private Client Expands Its Lifestyle Pillar with The Launch of The Private Table

  • 09 Sep 2026

OCBC Premier Private Client today launches The Private Table, a flagship platform that expands the Premier Private Banking's lifestyle proposition into curated experiences, for its affluent and high-net-worth clients.

With wealth management being the cornerstone of the OCBC Premier Private Client proposition, the Bank has established a broader suite of value pillars to support affluent individuals, families, and business owners beyond their banking needs.

A key milestone in this journey was the launch of the 18,000 sq ft OCBC Premier Private Client Centre in Bangsar in 2025, which paired private banking with in-house dining, private hosting spaces and bespoke engagement opportunities created for conversations around wealth, family and future aspirations. This broader approach has resonated strongly with its clients.

As at end-June 2026, the Bank's wealth income grew 52% year-on-year, reflecting the strength of its Whole-of-Wealth strategy, which brings together the capabilities of OCBC Bank, Bank of Singapore and Great Eastern across banking, wealth management, insurance and legacy planning. Similarly, the Bangsar Premier Private Client Centre has also recorded significant growth with Wealth AUM* increasing by 90% year-on-year.

*AUM stands for Asset Under Management

Building on this momentum, The Private Table is launched with its inaugural edition, “Inheritance,” which explores how traditions, values and relationships are passed from one generation to the next. It reflects the belief that wealth extends beyond financial assets to the legacies we leave behind.

The event featured two distinct experiences. The first, Behind The Craft, is an exclusive culinary sharing where clients partnered with a family member or friend to create dishes inspired by the people, experiences and memories that shaped their lives.

Chef Darren Chin served as Chef Advisor and Judge for the inaugural edition. The son of David Chin, founder of Dave's Deli and Café Bistrot David, he was selected for his personal connection to the theme, with his own journey reflecting how passions and traditions can be carried forward and reinterpreted by a new generation.

One of the participating clients, Mr. Shaun Tan, shared, "Recreating our grandmother's Lor Mee with my aunt brought back so many memories of growing up in Terengganu. It reminded us how special those family moments were, and how fortunate we are to still share them today."

The second experience, At The Table, was an intimate private dining at Edenmill by Metal Bees, where invited guests gathered to celebrate the theme of inheritance. Michelin-acclaimed Chef Darren Chin took centre stage, curating and presenting a specially crafted menu inspired by the concept. Drawing from his own journey, Chef Darren explored how his personal experiences can be reinterpreted and passed on across generations through food.

Speaking at the dinner, Sammeer, Head of Consumer Financial Services, OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad, said, "The Private Table is our lifestyle proposition coming to life, reflecting our belief that true wealth is also the relationships, values and legacies our clients build. As we grow this pillar, and prepare to introduce wellness alongside it, our aim remains the same, to support our clients as individuals and families, not just as portfolios."

Highlights from Behind The Craft were showcased during the dinner, with three clients recognised for Best Overall Dish, Best Storytelling and Best Interpretation of Theme. Donations were made in the winners' names to Dignity for Children Foundation Malaysia.

The theme of Inheritance is one that OCBC itself understands well. With more than a century of heritage in the region and generations of service to Malaysian families, the Bank has long viewed its client relationships as something built and nurtured over time. This perspective continues to underpin The Private Table and the broader Premier Private Client proposition.

The Private Table will continue as a recurring platform under OCBC Premier Private Client, reflecting the full breadth of the proposition: wealth at its core, complemented by lifestyle experiences and, in time, wellness.
