OCBC Al-Amin Bank Berhad (OCBC Al-Amin) tied up with Masjid Jamek to spread goodwill through the act of sharing on the first day of Ramadhan.

The Bank, led by CEO Tuan Syed Abdull Aziz Syed Kechik, did so for the sixteenth consecutive year.

Like in the previous years, since the inception of the Islamic subsidiary of OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad in 2008, the staff linked arms with Masjid Jamek personnel to mark the beginning of Ramadhan with the symbolic gesture of offering bubur lambuk to their neighbours and the community at large.

Several OCBC Al-Amin staff gather for a shot after their sixteenth consecutive year of spreading goodwill through the act of sharing on the first day of Ramadhan.

People from all walks of life in surrounding areas of the Bank’s headquarters at Wisma Lee Rubber, Jalan Melaka, enjoyed the Ramadhan goodies and shared in the spirit of the fasting month.

“We are reminded through the humble act of sharing what it means to provide for those around us. The fasting month gives us the opportunity to not only look about ourselves when breaking fast but to go deeper in the noble act of almsgiving. I am pleased that my colleagues and I were able to head to the streets surrounding our Bank this evening once again as we did each year for the past sixteen years since the formation of OCBC Al-Amin in 2008. We see this as symbolic of our neighbourly community duty to uphold in the spirit of togetherness, offering what we have to others.

“We are grateful to Masjid Jamek who partnered with us yet again in the effort. We hope the public will have a meaningful Ramadhan this year as we look to further wholesome celebrations with family and friends as we look forward to 1 Syawal,” Tuan Syed Abdull Aziz said.

Since its establishment in December 2008, OCBC Al-Amin has remained among the top foreign Islamic banks in Malaysia, consistently placing among the top two in terms of assets since 2013.

OCBC Al-Amin offers its products and services through the 38 OCBC branches nationwide, including 7 that are standalone Islamic banking branches.
