OCBC Bank & OCBC Al-Amin CEOs hit KL streets to spread Ramadhan goodwill for the 15th year
The month of Ramadhan is back and OCBC Al-Amin Bank Berhad (OCBC Al-Amin) staff, led by OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad CEO Mr Tan Chor Sen and OCBC Al-Amin CEO Tuan Syed Abdull Aziz Syed Kechik, took to the streets for the fifteenth consecutive year to spread goodwill through the act of sharing on the first day of Ramadhan.
Like in the previous years since the inception of the Islamic bank in 2008, the staff marked the beginning of Ramadhan with the symbolic gesture of offering bubur lambuk to their neighbours and the community at large.
People from all walks of life in surrounding areas of the Bank’s headquarters at Wisma Lee Rubber, Jalan Melaka, enjoyed the Ramadhan goodies and shared in the spirit of the fasting month
“Ramadhan is a time we look beyond the hustle and bustle of our daily lives and go deeper into the meaning of life itself. It is a reminder to give alms as a symbol of the unity we share. I am pleased that my colleagues and I were able to head to the streets surrounding our Bank this evening to perform our neighbourly duty. This has become a tradition for all of us at OCBC Al-Amin to uphold in the spirit of togetherness, offering what we have to others on the first day of Ramadhan.
“A huge note of thanks to our friends from Masjid Jamek who partnered with us yet again in the effort. We hope the public will have a meaningful Ramadhan this year as we look to further wholesome celebrations with family and friends as we look forward to 1 Syawal.
“In conjunction with all of this, I am pleased to announce that OCBC Al-Amin will also be giving out essential items such as rice, oil and flour to 100 needy families from the B40 community in the lead up to Hari Raya,” Tuan Syed Abdull Aziz said.
OCBC Al-Amin, among the top two foreign Islamic banks in Malaysia, offers its products and services through the 38 OCBC branches nationwide, including 7 that are standalone Islamic banking branches.
