OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad has been the main sponsor of The Edge Billion Ringgit Club since its inception in 2010. The initiative recognises and honours top publicly-listed companies in Malaysia as measured by turnover or market capitalisation.
Corporate awards are given out coveringe each of the seven Bursa Malaysia designated sectors and the much-coveted Company of the Year Award recognises the best of corporate Malaysia.
The much-coveted Company of the Year Award recognises the best of corporate Malaysia. It takes into account, among others, profit before tax growth, returns to shareholders, return on equity, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The Edge Billion Ringgit Club is an independent effort of The Edge newspaper although it invites external judges to help evaluate corporate social responsibility efforts.
