OCBC Bank rolls out Malaysia’s first Disney-themed debit card

  • 09 Jun 2025

OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad (OCBC Bank) has launched the OCBC Stitch Debit Card, the first-ever Disney-themed debit card in Malaysia. The move is part of a strategic five-year collaborative effort between OCBC Bank and Disney aimed at bringing meaningful customer experiences.

Inspired by everyone’s favourite spacey troublemaker, Stitch, the cosmically cute debit card aims to delight Disney fans and banking customers alike – especially with the live-action reimagining of Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch” in cinemas since 22 May  in Malaysia.

OCBC and Disney first announced the strategic collaboration across three of the bank’s core markets – Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia – in October 2024. The new Stitch-themed debit card marks the beginning of OCBC’s collaboration with Disney in Malaysia, where OCBC Bank promises to bring more family and fan-based experiences to the Bank’s customers in the coming months.

According to Mr Sammeer Sharma, Head of Consumer Financial Services, OCBC Bank, the Bank looks to bring storytelling, imagination and emotional resonance into the world of banking through products and activations inspired by Disney.

“This is a fresh way for us to connect even more deeply with our customers and delighting them in ways that go beyond what tends to be expected. With more Disney-themed offerings on the horizon, we are bringing a touch of fun and imagination to the everyday banking experience of our customers,” he said.

He also added that the bank expects to gain an increase of 100,000 in new-to-bank current and savings account customers through the collaboration in the next 24 months.

The OCBC Stitch Debit Card is available to anyone who has or opens an OCBC 360 Account.  In conjunction with its  launch, the Bank is organising a contest that gives participants a chance to win a specially curated trip to Hawaii inspired by Disney’s live-action “Lilo & Stitch”.

“Many people in Malaysia continue to resonate with Stitch’s big-hearted personality, and his story of family and togetherness. We hope our contest will bring ‘Lilo & Stitch’ to life beyond the screen, offering an exciting way for people to connect with their favourite story,” Mr Sammeer said.

Any OCBC card member can participate in the contest, which runs from 5 May to 31 July 2025 for a chance to win the exclusive prizes.
