OCBC Malaysia urges loans and financing customers affected by floods to call in for support

  • 03 Dec 2024

OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad (OCBC Bank) together with its Islamic banking subsidiary OCBC Al-Amin Bank Berhad (OCBC Al-Amin) (collectively, OCBC Malaysia) is urging all its customers – individuals, microenterprises, SMEs, and commercial and corporate businesses – who are adversely affected by the floods in certain parts of the country to get in touch with the Bank if they need to discuss relief or restructuring measures in relation to their existing loans or financing schemes.

All requests will be prioritised and attended to on a case-by-case basis with a view to determining what works best for the customer.

OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad Chief Executive Officer Mr Tan Chor Sen said OCBC Malaysia is committed to supporting any customer who is adversely affected by the floods and is calling on them to remain positive during these challenging times.

“The floods have given rise to uncertainties among people and communities in the affected areas, placing them in distress. As an enabler to our customers, we are ready to help any individual or business customer adversely affected so they can deal with payment issues with peace of mind. Our goal is to enable them to recover and realise their aspirations. We urge anyone who is affected not to hesitate to reach out to us. Help is at hand,” he said.

He added that the Bank has an on-going Flood Relief Assistance (FRA) programme for customers affected by floods. The programme provides options for affected customers to manage their repayments to ease their constraints during their time of need.

Individuals may call the Bank’s dedicated consumer hotline at 03-8317 5011, while SME and microenterprise customers may call 03-8317 5200. The lines are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. Corporate and commercial banking customers should call their respective relationship managers.
