Smart Tips When Using Your Smartphones for Better Security

Mobile devices today have become multi-functional. It is a communication tool, shopping store, e-wallet and a user identifier for various online banking services. But while smartphones are deemed “smart”, technology can only do so much against cyber harm.

TIPS ON HOW TO BETTER SECURE YOURSELF ONLINE
Be wary when browsing online or chatting with a 3rd party
Avoid interacting with anything suspicious online, e.g., suspicious third 3rd party links, or downloading APK files from untrustworthy sources outside of the official app stores, etc.
Secure your smartphone all the time
Install trusted anti-virus applications and manage your device's app permissions to minimise cyber security risks. Always lock your device when not in use.
Take immediate action if you lose your phone or suspect you have fallen victim to a scam
If you happen to lose your phone or suspect your account has been compromised, immediately contact the bank and ask to block your online banking accounts. File a police report, where required.
