What is DuitNow Transfer (Pay to Proxy) for corporate collection?

DuitNow Transfer (Pay to Proxy) is an industry initiative that allows corporates to receive funds from individuals and business without the need of bank of account details by simply using Mobile number of Business Registration Number (BRN) on real-time basis. Using Mobile number as DuitNow ID is only applicable for Sole Proprietor and Partnership. For other business entity, only BRN is applicable.

Can I register my BRN and/or mobile number with more than one bank?

No, your DuitNow ID (BRN and/or mobile number) can only be registered with one (1) bank at any time. However, you can switch or transfer your DuitNow ID to your preferred bank from the respective bank's internet/ mobile banking.

When can I register my mobile number as DuitNow ID?

Once OCBC Bank launch DuitNow Transfer (Pay to Proxy) service in December 2018, you can register your mobile number(s) as DuitNow ID(s) via:

  • OCBC Velocity (Business Internet Banking)
  • OCBC Malaysia Business Mobile Banking app; or
  • Fill in DuitNow Registration and Maintenance form and hand over the counter at your nearest branch

How many mobile number can I register with OCBC?

You can register as many mobile numbers as your wish with OCBC, provided that your mobile numbers are in record with the bank. Please proceed to the nearest OCBC Branch to fill up the "Business Account Update Form" or download the form from OCBC Velocity, if you wish to add, remove, and update any of your mobile number(s).

Can I register DuitNow ID with more than one account or vice versa?

You can register DuitNow ID with one account or multiple DuitNow ID (BRN and/or mobile numbers) with a same account. However, you are not allow to register a DuitNow ID with multiple account.

Example, the following is Allowed - Multiple DuitNow IDs with one account.

BRN: 1122333-A register with OCBC account: 701-295555-5
Mobile number: +60124455666 register with OCBC account: 701-295555-5
Mobile number: +60167778899 register with OCBC account: 701-295555-5

But the following are NOT allowed. One DuitNow ID with multiple account.
BRN: 1122333-A register with OCBC account 701-297777-7
BRN: 1122333-A register with OCBC account 701-296666-6

What can i do when i change my mind about my DuitNow Transfer (Pay to Proxy) registrations with OCBC?

You can choose to do the below with your DuitNow ID(s) that have been registered with your OCBC Bank account(s) through OCBC Velocity (Business Internet Banking), OCBC Malaysia Business Mobile Banking app or over the counter.

  • deactiviate
  • activate
  • de-link
Should you wished to switched your DuitNow ID linked to OCBC Bank account to your other bank's account or vice versa, this can be performed using other bank's internet banking platform too and there are no charges for any DuitNow Transfer (Pay to Proxy) registration and maintenance.

How can I deregister/delink from DuitNow Transfer (Pay to Proxy) service?

You can deregister/delink from DuitNow service via Bank account(s) through (i) OCBC Velocity (Business Internet Banking) &  OCBC Malaysia Business Mobile Banking app or (ii) over the counter. Please refer to the following details.

(i) OCBC Velocity (Business Internet Banking) & OCBC Malaysia Business Mobile Banking app

    a) Login to OCBC Velocity
    b) Proceed to “Manage DuitNow
    c) Click on the “Delink from DuitNow” hyperlink, on the DuitNow ID which you wish to deregister
    d) Check the “Terms & Conditions” checkbox and select “Submit
    e) You will receive notification (SMS and/or email) upon your DuitNow deregistration is successful

(ii) Over the counter

    a) Get a copy of the DuitNow Registration and Maintenance Form here
    b) Complete the form for “Delete” DuitNow ID request
    c) Submit the form to the nearest OCBC Branch
    d) You will receive notification (SMS and/or email) upon your DuitNow deregistration is successful

How do I receive fund from someone/ a company using DuitNow Transfer (Pay to Proxy)?

Once you are successfully registered your DuitNow ID with your business account, you can now inform your payer to make payments to your business account by providing your payer with your DuitNow ID instead of account number and bank details.

How long does it take to receive funds made via DuitNow Transfer (Pay to Proxy)?

DuitNow Transfers is on real-time mode, once your payer completed and authorised the payment online, you will receive the funds immediately.

Will there be charges for receiving funds through DuitNow Transfers?

No, you will not be charged for receiving funds through DuitNow Transfers.

What are the cut-off times for DuitNow Transfer collections?

DuitNow transactions are available 24x7 and funds are made available immediately to your accounts.

Note: Transactions performed after 9:45pm, it will be reflected on your statement as the next day's transaction date.

Will you be informed when a DuitNow Transfer payment is received?

With the convenience of OCBC Malaysia Business Mobile Banking app, you can check your transaction history at anytime, anywhere to ensure you have receive your payment or you can login via OCBC Velocity to do so. Alternatively you can sign up for eAlerts for your companies to receive emails and/or SMS notifications upon receiving payments via DuitNow.

How can you identify payments received via DuitNow Transfer (Pay to Proxy)?

Incoming payments credits will be reflected on your bank statement with the appropriate narratives/ descriptions of DuitNow Transfer (Pay to Proxy) as reference.

Can you collect foreign currency funds via DuitNow Transfer?

No, DuitNow Transfers is applicable for local currency Malaysia Ringgit (MYR) only.
