Sponsorships

Arts

Underpinned by our core value of contributing back to the community, we have been an active supporter of the local performing arts scene since 1995 through the sponsorship of performances by local arts organisations. We encourage the awareness and appreciation of the arts in Singapore through the offer of exclusive privileges to art lovers.

In recognition of our long-term support for the local arts scene, we were accorded the Distinguished Patron of the Arts Award by the National Arts Council in 2011 for the 13th time.

Event sponsorships

We have sponsored arts performances and events by local arts organisations including ACT 3 International, I Theatre, Singapore Lyric Opera, Singapore Dance Theatre, Dream Academy, The Theatre Practice, Toy Factory Productions and W!LD RICE.

We also partnered highly sought after local artists to bring their works to the community. In 2011, we supported the ‘Tracking Memories’ exhibition - a collaboration between prominent businessman and avid photographer Mr Kwek Leng Beng, and watercolour maestro, Mr Ong Kim Seng – to honour the historical railway (Tanjong Pagar) in Singapore.

Exclusive privileges for art lovers

We recognise there is a growing trend of Singaporeans who appreciate the arts, and we want to play a part in making the arts an integral part of their lives. Our customers enjoy exclusive privileges for theatre and concert performances, as well as pottery, art and music lessons when they use the OCBC Arts Platinum MasterCard.

Grooming young talents

We also believe in playing a part in nurturing the financially-disadvantaged young talent in Singapore. The proceeds from sale of the art pieces displayed at the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands will go towards the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) Student Relief Fund to help talented students in need to achieve their aspirations of excelling in the arts.

We have also provided our OCBC Arts Platinum card members a channel to nurture young talents through an annual contribution made to The Business Times Budding Artist Fund (BT BAF). The funds are channeled to the Little Arts Academy, a BT BAF initiative that provides the underprivileged children the opportunity to fulfil their artistic potential.
